Neurologist Suponeva: seriously ill patients with COVID-19 have a higher risk of neurological problems said that 80 percent of patients who have had a hard time coronavirus infection develop neurological disorders. This is reported by Medic Forum.

According to the specialist, a person who has had a moderate to severe form of COVID-19 has an increased risk of neurological problems. She added that the prevalence of such complications is extremely high among patients hospitalized during the illness.

Among the possible consequences that a person who has had a severe coronavirus, she named changes in the sense of taste or smell, headaches , chronic fatigue syndrome, encephalopathy, which is accompanied by memory problems and prostration, as well as stroke.

Also, the doctor warned about the increased risk of these disorders due to the complex influence of factors. So the organs of the nervous system can be affected by thrombosis, which, in turn, can occur with COVID-19, or severe inflammation caused by it. In addition, aggressive drug therapy can lead to disastrous consequences.
