“I would, for example, in some form, maybe not 100 percent, but for certain categories of people, maybe for certain regions such a program could well be preserved, “Gref said and added that the program has shown good results. The head of Sberbank noted that now the program costs the state a little more due to the growth of the key rate. However, if the rate decreases, the program will become profitable in terms of its costs.
The term of the concessional mortgage program has already been extended until June 2021. Then the maximum rate under the program was raised from 6.5 percent to 7 percent, and the loan amount was reduced to three million rubles for all regions. The head of the Chamber of Commerce Sergei Katyrin and top manager of VTB Anatoly Pechatnikov have already suggested leaving the Russians with a cheap mortgage. At the same time, Pechatnikov also said that the program needs to be modernized, and it is necessary to preserve it for such categories of the population as doctors and teachers.
Head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina nevertheless said that the regulator does not consider it necessary to extend the program preferential mortgage. The Central Bank plans to complete the program on schedule. Nabiullina noted that in addition to preferential mortgages in Russia, there are other mortgage programs for certain categories of citizens.
