Over the year, revenue in coffee shops with takeaway drinks increased by 61 percent. The average check grew by 20 percent to 251 rubles. The average revenue of fast food stalls soared by 26 percent, and the average check – by nine percent, to 356 rubles.
In addition, the revenue of tobacco stalls, beer shops – by 27 percent, and convenience stores – by three percent. Furniture stores (plus 16 percent), clothing and footwear stores (plus 33 and 32 percent, respectively) showed good dynamics.
The most popular areas in terms of the number of new registrations from January to November were retail trade (28.9 percent ), transportation of passengers and goods (15.2), wholesale (9.7), specialized construction work (7.8) and construction of buildings (5.2). The catering sector became the sixth in this indicator (4.5 percent).
Most often, entrepreneurs opened a new business in Moscow and the region – ten and seven percent, respectively, followed by St. Petersburg. Men are more likely to start their own businesses (60.1 percent).
Earlier it was reported that the business activity index in the Russian service sector amounted to 47.1 points in November – 1.7 points less than in October. The service sector is in crisis due to weak consumer demand and re-imposition of coronavirus restrictions.
