In mid-November, a man stumbled upon an unusual creature on Glider Beach- Port. At first he mistook something for a jellyfish, but upon closer inspection, Beiler realized that he was facing a rare species of fish. He posted a photo of the find on social networks to find out what the fish is called.
It turned out that the “creature from nightmares” was a kind of deep-sea angler fish – a soccer ball fish that lives at depths of more than one kilometer … It got its name due to its spherical shape. One of the characteristics of an animal is that it can absorb and swallow food the size of its body. At the same time, the mouth of the fish works on the principle of a trap: if the prey falls into the mouth of the angler, it will no longer be able to escape.
