Indonesia closes borders to foreign tourists from December 24 due to COVID-19 
since December 24, amid the spread of the new omicron coronavirus strain. Information about this appeared on the website of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).
The ban on tourist trips to the popular beach country will be in effect at least until January 2. Further, an assessment of the epidemiological situation in the country will be carried out, on the basis of which further decisions on the opening of borders will be made.
In addition, from December 3 to December 24, the republic's authorities are tightening the rules of entry for travelers. Now vacationers arriving in the country, including Russians, will have to undergo a mandatory ten-day quarantine.
Earlier in December, it was reported that the popular Indonesian island of Bali was empty without tourists. The island's settlements, which were once under the weight of an excessive tourist load, have turned into ghost towns.
