Nepomniachtchi and Carlsen set a world chess championship record

The game of Ian Nepomniachtchi and Magnus Carlsen for the world title became a record the title of the world chess champion. This was reported by the Lenta.ru correspondent.

The game took 136 moves and lasted almost eight hours, becoming the longest in the history of the world championships. Thus, the chess players set a record.

Carlsen beat the Russian playing white. Now the score in the match is 3.5 – 2.5 in favor of the Norwegian. The seventh batch will take place on December 4th. This time Nepomniachtchi will play white.

The first five games of the decisive confrontation did not reveal the strongest. Nepomniachtchi's rival is the reigning world champion. The meeting between Nepomniachtchi and Carlsen was postponed for a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
