Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry: Makei expressed Minsk's readiness to participate in the restoration of Karabakh

A meeting of the foreign ministers of the two republics Jeyhun Bayramov and Vladimir Makei took place in Stockholm. The parties discussed the agenda of cooperation between Minsk and Baku.

Makei stressed that Belarus is ready to participate in the restoration work in the territories that came under Baku’s control following the results of the last war.

In April, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev in Baku, he offered assistance in rebuilding the territories damaged during the war. “Azerbaijan has made a great step towards achieving its national dream. You should know that your reliable friends are in Belarus, “Lukashenko said.

In 1991, Nagorno-Karabakh, predominantly populated by Armenians, declared independence from Azerbaijan, which tried to return it by force.
