The chief forensic scientist of the Orenburg region was arrested in a fraud case

According to a law enforcement source of Lenta.ru, Gromov's accomplices created a whole business on the bodies of the dead – forcing the relatives of the deceased to conclude contracts for cosmetics for corpses and other services.

Andrey Gromov headed the GBUZ “Bureau of Forensic Medical Examination” of the region from 2006 to 2010. Later, there were complaints that he was forcing experts to force relatives to sign contracts. After checking by the prosecutor's office, he was removed from office. The official who replaced him in 2020 retired, and Andrei Gromov again headed the bureau.
