The captain of the Russian ship will go on trial for the order to throw the police overboard

The drunken captain ordered to throw the police overboard and became a defendant in the criminal case overboard. This was announced on Thursday, December 2, to Lente.ru by Elena Markovskaya, an official representative of the interregional transport department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR).

According to the investigation, in November, after a five-month voyage, the sea vessel Sovena anchored in the port of Arkhangelsk to unload equipment. The captain immediately went to one of the drinking establishments of the city, where he drank alcohol all night. When he returned in the morning and met the port control officers who had arrived for the administrative proceedings, they had a conflict.

The man raised an alarm and gave the sailors “an order to throw the police overboard.” Realizing that, by law, the team is obliged to carry out any order of the captain, the law enforcement officers urgently called for the help of the FSB officers.

The captain was detained. A criminal case was opened against him under article 318 (“Use of violence against a government official”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The man repented of his deed and admitted his guilt in full, explaining his actions by a difficult emotional state caused by a long sea voyage.

The criminal case was sent to court for consideration on the merits.

November 22 it was reported that in the Saratov region a case was opened against the 38-year-old captain of a diesel-electric ship for draining fuel from the vessel for 104 thousand rubles.
