The authorities of the Omsk region appealed to the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Energy with a complaint about the coal shortage
rising prices and a series of refusals by suppliers to fulfill contracts, writes TASS with reference to the Deputy Minister of Energy and Housing and Communal Services of the region, Sergei Tsukanov. Local authorities sent complaints to the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Energy of Russia, the Prosecutor's Office and the Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Omsk Region.
The press service of the regional Ministry of Energy reported that the situation has not yet been resolved. “The issue of allocating funds from the reserve fund of the region for the purchase of fuel is being considered,” said a representative of the department.
At the end of November, 11 municipal districts of the region announced possible problems with maintaining the standard stock of coal during the winter heating season. Coal suppliers warn that they will not be able to fulfill contracts due to a sharp rise in fuel prices.
The prosecutor's office of the Omsk region began checking due to the risk of disruption of supplies back in mid-November. Then the director of the Teploset-1 company, serving the Muromtsevsky district in the north of the region, Roman Bursh said that the coal reserves at the enterprise had dropped to a critically low level – at that time there was only fuel left until the end of the month. Bursh explained the deficit by an increase in the cost of Kuzbass coal from 3 to more than 5 thousand rubles per ton.
In December, the director of Teploset-1 said that the company was forced to accumulate debts by purchasing coal at higher prices. Earlier, the regional energy commission (REC) of the Omsk region stated that due to the increased costs of enterprises, residents of the region could increase the tariff for thermal energy. However, such a measure is only possible next season, the tariffs cannot be changed right now.
Problems with coal supplies in November were also reported in the Altai Territory. A number of districts reported a shortage of coal for the needs of the population. At the same time, the temperature in the region has already dropped to minus 15 degrees Celsius, which forced the affected residents to import fuel from neighboring areas. The Altai Territory Administration explained the crisis by the rise in the price of coal imported from the Kemerovo Region and its shortage due to the large volume of export supplies.
