Apple is declaring its 2014 iPhone obsolete. This is reported by MacRumors.

Journalists have learned that on December 31, iPhone 6 Plus will be placed on the list of obsolete devices. “This means that it has been more than five years since Apple stopped distributing the device for sale,” the authors noted. At the same time, service centers will continue to serve customers' smartphones for up to seven years after the release of the device, but only if spare parts are available.

It is noted that the iPhone 6 Plus was announced along with the smaller iPhone 6 in one year. However, production of the iPhone 6 Plus ceased in 2016, while Apple continued to sell the base smartphone in select markets. In this regard, the iPhone 6 will be added to the list of rare gadgets later. Also, Apple several years ago stopped supplying smartphones of this series with new software versions.

Released in 2014, the iPhone 6 Plus was the first Apple smartphone to receive a 5.5-inch display diagonal. Also, the device came out with an Apple A8 processor, one gigabyte of RAM, a single camera with a resolution of eight megapixels, a fingerprint sensor built into the button, NFC.

In early November, Apple added the fourth generation iPad to the list of obsolete devices. In addition, the company has declared the 2012 Mac mini desktop computer obsolete.
