Tunisian authorities, a popular beach country among Russian tourists, in connection with the emergence of a new strain of coronavirus omicron, have tightened the rules of entry for tourists. This is reported by the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).

Since December 1, all travelers over 6 years old who come to the republic must have a negative PCR test with a QR code with them when boarding a flight. not earlier than 48 hours before departure. The innovations apply to both vaccinated and unvaccinated tourists.

In addition, arriving vacationers can be subjected to selective rapid antigen testing or PCR testing at the airport of arrival. It is specified that in case of a positive result, the traveler must go through isolation in a special observational center at his own expense.

Those who are not fully vaccinated and who have less than 14 days after the second dose of vaccine before entering Tunisia are considered unvaccinated. They are also required to go to a ten-day quarantine at their own expense and stay in a pre-booked hotel from the government list.

Earlier in November, the Indian authorities announced tougher entry rules for foreigners due to the risk of the spread of the omicron strain of coronavirus. From December 1, all travelers arriving in the republic from countries at risk will have to pass a PCR test for COVID-19 upon arrival at the airport and, without leaving the building, wait for its results.
