GitHub is under the threat of a fine in Russia for not deleting content

As Interfax was explained in court, the regulator's claims to the service arose due to GitHub's refusal to delete Smart Voting data. In September, the project's website was entered in the register of prohibited information and blocked in Russia, since it was used by the Anti-Corruption Foundation (recognized in Russia as a foreign agent and an extremist organization, its activities are prohibited).

According to TASS, up to four Millions of rubles a fine for refusing to delete information prohibited in the Russian Federation also threatens Twitter.
