Alvin Lussier was one of the most prominent representatives of the American avant-garde music scene. He became famous for his experiments with sound and acoustic phenomena. His most famous work was the 45-minute recording I Am Sitting In A Room, released in 1981. In it, the musician repeatedly re-recorded the echo of his voice, reflected from the walls of the room. By the end of the recording, Lussier's speech was transformed into an ambient composition.
