Coal trade union representative: the mines ignore the ratio of wages 70 to 30 in which the lives and health of miners could be protected. According to him, the main factor that makes people ignore safety and harsh working conditions is the wrong ratio of basic earnings and bonuses. Badalov shared his opinion on this matter in a conversation with Lenta.ru.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin demanded “to ask harshly according to the law” from those who neglect the safety of workers in mines, putting them at mortal risk. The head of state stressed that it is necessary to strictly monitor the proper condition of the equipment of mines and personal life-saving appliances of workers.
“70 to 30”
There are certainly many factors affecting the safety of work at mines, but the main one is wages , noted the first deputy chairman of the Russian Independent Trade Union of the Coal Industry. Badalov noted that until now, many employers only formally support the wage ratio prescribed by law, thereby forcing employees to neglect their own safety and overwork.
“One of the main factors affecting safety in mines is the absence of a guaranteed part of wages at 70 percent, and a bonus part at 30 percent. This ratio is still not observed in many places. We have been arguing with employers for a long time about this, and to this day it is little where it is observed, “Badalov said.
According to the Russian Independent Coal Industry Trade Union, 70 percent of wages should be paid to miners regardless of the volume of coal mined, and only 30 percent may depend on the plan. “In a very Russian way, we insist that the tariff rate, including social guarantees, should be 70 percent. Then 30 percent is a bonus and everything else, this is the maximum that we could lose in case of refusal to work. It is necessary to somehow control this condition. Today this is not always done, as evidenced by the situation at Listvyazhnaya. If you remember, there were many who said that they were on credit. If a miner's wages were paid at a ratio of 70 to 30, then, probably, people would not have gone to work additionally and would not ignore the safety conditions, “- said the representative of the trade union.
The accident at the Listvyazhnaya mine in the Kemerovo region occurred on the morning of November 25. As a result of the emergency, 51 people died, among whom were mine rescuers who went in search. According to the latest information, 99 Russians were injured, in addition, 16 people were hospitalized.
