The Times: In South Korea, a hacker hacked into smart home cameras and sold intimate videos smart homes, and then sold intimate videos of their owners on the darknet. The cybercriminal was exposed with the help of local journalists. The reporter for IT Chosun played the role of the buyer. After he managed to get in touch with the seller, he offered to purchase an archive of photos from several houses at once for 0.1 bitcoin (about 420 thousand rubles). The local media do not report whether the attacker was eventually detained.

“This incident caused serious concern in society, since it was not home computers or mobile phones that were hacked, but wall surveillance cameras. This seriously compromises our confidence that we are protected in our homes, “said Kim Nam Seung, a spokesman for the South Korean Ministry of Science and Technology, commenting on the incident.

Earlier it was reported that an unknown hacker hacked into a camera-equipped smart feeder for dogs, got access to the camera and spied on the owner of one of the animals.
