BVPA head Mikhailov: Kiev transferred its army to Donbass because of the meeting between Putin and Biden

At the same time, the transfer of Ukrainian troops to Donbass is taking place for real, and the purpose of this maneuver is to provoke Russia to respond, he added.

The political scientist believes that the West is trying to force the Russian army to inflict several strikes on the border territory of Ukraine and submit it to the media as an act of Moscow's aggression against Kiev. This or that development of the situation will ultimately affect the position and agenda of Putin and Biden in the upcoming negotiations. And only after the two leaders meet, there will be detente, Mikhailov is sure.
Kiev, on the other hand, pursues its own interest in future negotiations between the United States and Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said earlier. “Kiev is becoming more and more arrogant, I would say, in its aggressiveness towards the Minsk agreements, towards the Russian Federation and in its attempts to provoke the West to support its militant aspirations,” Lavrov said.
Maria Zakharova, spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, spoke about the pulling together of Ukrainian troops into Donbass on the morning of December 1. According to her, more than half of the entire composition of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is located in the region.
