In Russia, about 350-400 children infected with COVID-19. Such a number on Wednesday, December 1, was announced by the chief researcher of the Gamaleya Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology, virologist Anatoly Altstein. His words are quoted by TASS.

He explained that infant mortality is registered in 0.005 percent of cases. According to the virologist, lethality among minors is caused by ingestion of a delta strain.

On the eve, the Russian Ministry of Health said that over 30 thousand children with coronavirus receive medical care throughout the country. Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, children have made up more than five percent of all infected.

Earlier, the Gamaleya Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology announced plans to study a coronavirus vaccine among children aged six to 11 years. The head of the center, Alexander Gintsburg, urged to make sure to include a children's anticonvulsant drug in the national vaccination calendar.
