Deputy General Director of Donstroi Bagaev suggested using nuclear installations in homes
Small nuclear installations can be used as an alternative source of energy in residential complexes … This proposal was voiced by Andrey Bagaev, Deputy General Director of Donstroy, in an interview with RIA Novosti.
“I had one idea, which at first glance looks crazy, – to use small nuclear installations as an energy source in residential complexes”, – said the developer and added that in Russia this technology is already used on icebreakers and nuclear submarines.
Bagaev noted that a nuclear installation could provide energy to homes in an area of 1.5 million square meters, and its service life would be seven years. “It’s like putting in a battery for seven years: people don’t know grief – there are no interruptions, no colossal payments to network companies for connection,” the deputy general director said. He clarified that the proposal can be treated with humor, but nevertheless, the future of mankind lies with nuclear energy, so it’s time to think about such ideas seriously. According to the developer, in order to implement such initiatives, it is necessary to change the legislation.
Some countries, including Russia, consider nuclear energy as a source of “green” energy, while countries such as Germany consider nuclear energy dangerous … In November, France announced its intention to build new nuclear reactors – such a measure should reduce energy prices, as well as help achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement on zero emissions.
