According to the head of Rostec, the growth in the cost of cars influenced by global inflationary processes. “We do not invent all these figures ourselves, they are provided by the market,” Chemezov said. He said that prices for almost all raw materials have risen: steel, plastics, metals and electronic components. In turn, the vice-president of AvtoVAZ for external relations and interaction with shareholders Sergey Gromak explained that cars will rise in price due to the “explosive growth” in steel prices after the expiration of export duties.
Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia Vasily Shpak stated that the gap in supply chains in the supply of electronic components for the automotive industry will grow, and the related problems will be more and more. He believes that the most important thing for the car market is import substitution and the transition to Russian components.
