Putin has restricted the access to information on arms procurement

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin has signed a law that reduces the time of placing the state defense order (SDO) and narrows the circle of persons, possessing information on the procurement of armaments, military and special equipment. The document is published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

The bill was introduced by the government. It frees the state of the customer from the obligation to formulate, approve and maintain a procurement plan and schedule procurement of weapons, military and special equipment.

Previously, the law on state defense order provided for the formulation and approval of the state defence order, which determines the peculiarities of planning of procurement.

In this case the law on the contract system in public procurement provided for the creation and maintenance of plans and schedules for procurement.

The government explained that the need to prepare duplicate on the documents increases the time of placement of the state defense order, reminds RIA Novosti. In addition, it expands the number of persons with restricted information about the procurement of weapons.
