The rock garden is the brainchild of official and self-taught artist of NEK Chand, who in his spare time he devotes himself to art. Chand began to construct the garden in 1957. He demolished construction waste from landfills around the city to the lake Cloth and created like no other work.

In the end, grew a garden, which consists of a system of artificial waterfalls and many sculptures created from scrap metal, bottles, glass, tiles, shells and broken pots.
