Moscow. 12 Dec. INTERFAX.RU — the Kremlin does not agree with the assessment by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko Kerch incident as an act of aggression and war, note that we are talking about provocation and violation of the state border of the Russian Federation.

Last week Poroshenko in interview to the American TV channel Fox News said that 25 Nov 10 Russian warships opened unprovoked fire on the Ukrainian military boats and tow.

“Mr. Putin, it is an act of aggression. Mr Putin, this is war. This is not a joke, not an incident not a crisis,” — said the Ukrainian President at the American broadcast channel.

He stressed that this “act of aggression” caused the strong reaction around the world, in particular, the President of the United States, the European Union, the “big seven”, the “big twenty”, etc.

Russian border guards on 25 November with a weapon detained near the Kerch Strait the Ukrainian tow “Yana Kapu” and small armored artillery boat “Berdyansk” and “Nikopol”, on their way from Odessa to Mariupol. The vessel was escorted to Kerch.

FSB opened a criminal case and presented were on vessels of 24 Ukrainian sailors on charges of “illegal border crossing committed by a group of persons upon a preliminary collusion or by an organized group or with application of violence or with threat of its application”. All 24 sailors were arrested until January 25, 2019.

In Kiev detained sailors called prisoners of war. The FSB claimed that they could not be considered as such as are accused with a criminal offence, and Russia and Ukraine are not at war or military conflict.
