Died, the author of books about the far East Leonid Pasenyuk

KRASNODAR, may 27. /TASS/. Writer Leonid Pasenyuk, who traveled to the wilderness of the Far East and described his impressions in his books, died in Krasnodar at the 92 th year of life, reported in a press-service of the regional Ministry of culture.

“We learned that Leonid died. Now the question is when and where will take place farewell,” said TASS representative of the Ministry.

On the website of the Ministry of culture of edge States that Leonid (Leonard) Pasenyuk was born on 10 December 1926 in the village of Velyka Tsvilya Zhytomyr region (Ukraine). At the age of 15 participated in the battle of Stalingrad, was wounded. In the postwar years he worked as a Turner at the Stalingrad tractor plant, participated in the construction of the Krasnodar CHP, went with the fishermen on the Black and Azov seas.

In 1954 published his first book “our sea,” written in the Kuban. In subsequent years Pasenyuk mountaineering, spearfishing, traveling through uncharted, maloprohodimye corners of our country, including researched the commander Islands, it is named after one of the headlands on Bering island. After traveling to the far East was published the book “the Mistress of Bear river”, “Eat their hearts”, “Go Komandarm”, “stingy Coast of the sun”, “Chaun-Chukotka”, as well as novels, short stories and travel stories. Despite the lack of special education, in 1956, Paseniuk was admitted to the Union of Soviet writers.

Awarded the order of Friendship, “Patriotic war” II degree, the medal “For defense of Stalingrad”, the Honorary diploma of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR, honored worker of culture of Russia, the laureate of the Prize named after academician Krasheninnikov. Lived and worked in Krasnodar.
