TASS-FILE. 7 may 2018 in the Moscow Kremlin there will pass solemn ceremony of inauguration (the inauguration) is elected President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. In the modern history of Russia the ceremony will be held for the seventh time. Previously, it was held in 1991, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012.
In 1991-2003 the inauguration of the Russian President was held on the 30th day from the day of official announcement of the presidential elections. Since 2003 the law establishes a rule according to which the President-elect took office on the date of termination of the four-year (2012 — six) of the term of office of the incumbent.

The inauguration of the President of the USSR
The first inauguration in Russian history took place in 1990, after the USSR had established the position of President. March 15, 1990, session III (extraordinary) Congress of people’s deputies of the USSR in the Kremlin Palace of congresses, General Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee Mikhail Gorbachev was elected the first President of the Soviet Union. Immediately after the announcement of results of voting the head of state on the rostrum brought the presidential oath and assumed office.
The inauguration of the Russian President in the 1990-ies
June 12, 1990 the I Congress of people’s deputies of the RSFSR adopted the Declaration on state sovereignty of Russia. In the referendum of 17 March 1991 the Republic was established the post of President of RSFSR.
June 12, 1991 President of the RSFSR (25 December 1991 — the Russian Federation) was elected Boris Yeltsin, who before held the post of Chairman of the Supreme Council (SC) of the Republic. July 10, 1991 in the Kremlin on V (extraordinary) Congress of people’s deputies of the RSFSR took place the solemn ceremony of his inauguration. It was opened by a Russian MP, actor Oleg Basilashvili. The ceremony was hosted by first Deputy Chairman of the RSFSR Supreme Soviet Ruslan Khasbulatov. The event was also attended by the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Alexy II (Ridiger), Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev, Chairman of the USSR Supreme Soviet Anatoly Lukyanov, Prime Minister of the Soviet Union Valentin Pavlov, etc.
During the oath, Yeltsin was holding his hand, putting it to his chest, on the Desk in front of him were two of the Constitution of the USSR of the sample of 1977 and of the RSFSR — 1978. After his inauguration with the national anthem of the Republic — “Patriotic song” by Mikhail Glinka (2000 anthem of the Russian Federation became the melody of the Soviet anthem, the author of which was Alexander Alexandrov), the residence of the President in the Kremlin along with the state flag of the USSR was hoisted national flag of the Russian Federation.
9 August 1996 inauguration of Yeltsin, re-elected for a second presidential term on 3 July of the same year. It was originally planned on the Cathedral square of the Kremlin. However, due to poor health in the event Yeltsin moved into the Kremlin Palace of congresses and significantly reduced time. The President-elect received from the hands of the Chairman of the Central electoral Commission Nikolay Ryabov, the identity of the head of state and with his hand on a copy of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, read the oath.
Then the Chairman of the Federation Council Yegor Stroyev has laid on him the insignia of the President of the Russian Federation. The ceremony was also attended by Chairman of the constitutional court Vladimir Tumanov, Prime Minister Viktor Chernomyrdin, State Duma speaker Gennady Seleznyov, Patriarch Alexy II, etc.
