Organizer of the exhibition in Turkey arrested in the murder of the Russian Ambassador

Moscow. 28 Dec. INTERFAX.RU — a Turkish Court arrested Mustafa Timur Ozkan — organizer of last year’s exhibition, during which a police officer mevlüt MERT Altıntaş mortally wounded Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov said on Thursday the website of the Turkish newspaper “Sabah”. As the reason of the arrest Ozkan authorities indicated a “deliberate attempt to participate in the murder” of the Russian Ambassador.
In addition, the Prosecutor’s office reported that investigators were able to obtain all information from the phone Altıntaş, in the framework of the joint investigation into the murder of Charles.
Earlier on suspicion of involvement in the murder of the Russian Ambassador was arrested five people, including three policemen, reminiscent of the “Sabah”.
The attack on Charles occurred on 19 December 2016 during his speech at the opening of the exhibition “Russia through the eyes of the Turks,” organized by joint efforts of the Russian Embassy in Ankara and the municipality of the Metropolitan district of Cankaya. The Russian Ambassador died from his injuries.
The gunman in the Ambassador Altıntaş was killed during a police operation.
According to Sabah, on Tuesday, the Prosecutor’s office of Ankara reported that Altıntaş personally knew living in the United States, the opposition preacher Fethullah gülen — the leader of the FETO.
