The destruction of the coalition led by the U.S. Syrian su-22 is an open aggression against Russia. This opinion was expressed by first Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on defense and security Frants Klintsevich, RIA Novosti reported on Monday, June 19.
“It is clear that no defense there is no question. Blatant aggression and provocation. Provoke and, above all, Russia”, — said the Senator.
The United States under the leadership of President Donald trump, said Klintsevich, become a source of “new level of danger not only in the middle East, but worldwide.”
The incident could lead to retaliation from the government, defense, commented RT first Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs Vladimir Jabbarov. “So to shoot down an aircraft is unacceptable — you will get retaliation. ( … ) so all of this can lead to a big conflict,” he said, pointing to the need in the shortest possible time to organize a meeting of diplomats stakeholders.
The evening of 18 June, the Ministry of defence SAR stated that the coalition led by the USA shot down the plane air force Syrian area of Raqqa. The incident, according to them, occurred during the execution of combat missions against militants of banned terrorist organization “Islamic state” (IG). The pilot of the plane has not been found yet.
According to the representative of the headquarters of the US-led international coalition operating in Syria and Iraq, the Syrian su-22, which dropped bombs near soldiers of the “Forces of democratic Syria”, was shot down by an American fighter-bomber F/A-18E Super Hornet.
The coalition added that it “does not seek conflict with the Syrian regime, or the Russian support of the regime forces,” but will defend their partners.
