Yevgeny Roizman
People’s freedom party (PARNAS) has nominated the mayor of Yekaterinburg Yevgeny Roizman as a candidate in the elections of the Governor of Sverdlovsk region. TASS said the Chairman of regional branch of political Mikhail Borisov.
“However, Roizman had planned to move forward from party “the Apple”, so we are waiting for his decision. If it does not become a candidate from our party, we still will support it,” — said Borisov.
The mayor of Yekaterinburg, TASS said it has no plans to accept the offer of PARNASSUS. “I will be nominated by the party “Yabloko”, it will happen at the conference, which will take place on Wednesday in Moscow. PARNASSUS just expressed to me their support, so made a few more parties”, — said the politician.
On Saturday, June 17, the question of the nomination Roizman on elections of the Governor should be considered Sverdlovsk branch “the Apple”. However, the party conference was not held because of the disagreement of the management of the local branch of the candidacy of the mayor of Yekaterinburg. The leader of “Yabloko” Grigory Yavlinsky noted that this could be because of pressure from local authorities, passes “Interfax”.
Elections of the head of Sverdlovsk region appointed on 10 September 2017. Participate in them can only candidates from political parties, self-nomination is not provided.
On 17 April the President of Russia Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on early termination of powers of the Governor of Sverdlovsk region Evgeny Kuyvasheva.
Roizman became mayor of Ekaterinburg in September 2013.
