In Turkey, 23 soldiers were sentenced to life in prison for participating in a coup attempt
This was the first decision of the Turkish court on charges of attempting a coup.
Moscow. June 15. INTERFAX.RU — the Turkish Court verdict on deprivation of liberty in respect of 23 people who took part in a failed coup in July 2016, said on Thursday the Turkish press.
In accordance with the court decision, the military found guilty of “attempting to change the political system by force” and “forcible retention” of the head of administration of the President of fari Kasargi.
According to the prosecution, these people were found guilty in the internment of Kasargi, which they put in the car “first aid” against their will, then delivered to the airbase “Akinci” in Ankara.
In addition, the former regimental commander of the presidential guard Muhsin Koutsi Barysh sentenced to 12 years imprisonment. Two other defendants acquitted.
This was the first decision of the Turkish court on charges of attempting a coup.
Military coup attempt in Turkey was committed on the night of July 16, 2016.
