Thai received 35 years in prison for insulting the Royal family

A court in Thailand sentenced to 35 years in prison a man found guilty of insulting the Royal family. It is reported BFMTV.

The defendant has placed on the page in social network Facebook several photographs of members of the Royal family and supplied their comments. The court found those remarks offensive.

“He was sentenced to 10 years in prison for each of their posts in Facebook and received a total of 70 years in prison. The court took into account his confession and reduced the period of two times,” — said one of the activists. According to him, since the sentence was imposed by a military Tribunal, the defendant has no right to appeal.

Currently for insulting members of the Royal family in Thai prisons serving sentences of about 100 people.

7 December last year, Thai authorities suspect of insulting the new king of Thailand Rama X (Maha Vajiralongkorn) British broadcasting Corporation “bi-Bi-si”.
