The city authorities decided to increase security at events on the occasion of Russia Day, celebrated on 12 June. As reported “Interfax” the head of the Moscow Department of regional security and counteraction of corruption Vladimir Chernikov, the celebrations will be first used camcorder with the function of identification.
“We will install CCTV camera with the index system of the individual (…). Video cameras will be positioned across sectors and to ensure full coverage of the participants”, — he said, noting that such a system provides the function of recognition “portrait”.
Also, the city will be installed in the arched metal detectors. “One task — to make people feel safe”, — said Chernikov.
As notes “Interfax”, the interior Ministry had earlier refused to confirm information about what events can be applied to facial recognition software. “Use of any technical means is an information of limited access,” — said the official representative of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Russia Irina Wolf.
