It was attended by representatives of environmental ministries, rescuers, veterinarians, employees of protected natural territories and oil and gas companies, members of the public group of volunteers to rescue marine mammals, said on Wednesday the press service of the Sakhalin tourist club “boomerang” (the organizer of the training).
Experts for two days have carried out theoretical studies which culminated in the training on the Small lake Vavaiskoe in the Korsakov district. According to legend, near the shores of Sakhalin in the networks of entangled whale.
“Participants in practice worked out ways of braking the kit, holding it on the surface, cutting entangling ropes, buoys and a telescopic pole, which is holding a knife. It is strictly forbidden to dive into the water to help the whale, it is also necessary to constantly control the tail of the animal,” — said in the message.
Participants were then trained in the safe removal of dolphins from the beach. This activity was held using full-size mockups for plausibility and filled it with water. Tested special stretcher and conventional blankets, which can be improvised means of rescuers. Special attention in this work paid to careful attitude to the fins and the animal behavior in stressful situations.
