U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson called the failed approach of strategic patience against Iran. With such a statement, as reported RIA Novosti, spoke at a press conference on Wednesday, April 19.

According to Tillerson, “a comprehensive policy against Iran requires the solution all threats”.

Also, according to him, the deal with Iran on its nuclear program failed. “Joint comprehensive plan of action failed in reaching your goal of non-nuclear status of Iran. It only postpones their goal is to become a nuclear state. This transaction represents the failed approach of the past,” he said.

Tillerson called Iran the leading state sponsor of terrorism in the world, which “undermines US interests in countries such as Syria, Yemen, Iraq and Lebanon,” while continuing to support attacks against Israel, reports TASS. “Iran is responsible for the aggravation of many conflicts,” he said, adding that “unrestrained Iran could go the same path as North Korea”.

In addition, Tillerson blamed the Iranian Navy is that they undermine freedom of navigation in the Persian Gulf. According to him, they “constantly inconvenience the American military courts, which are there legally.”

On 19 April President of the United States Donald trump instructed the national security Council (NSC) to assess the conditions of the nuclear deal with Iran. Before that, in early February, the American leader said a nuclear deal with Tehran “terrible”.

In mid-July, 2015 Iran and the six international mediators (US, Russia, China, Britain, France, and Germany) reached agreement on Tehran’s nuclear program. The Islamic Republic has made commitments to limit work in the field of uranium enrichment in exchange for lifting some sanctions.

In December 2016 the USA extended for 10 years, the restrictive measures against Iran, including because of the continuing in the country of works on creation of ballistic missiles.
