Matvienko said Russia’s lack of anti-Ukrainian sentiment

The Russians can see the difference between the Ukrainian people and the current Kiev leadership. This opinion in an interview with radio Sputnik was expressed by the Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko, reports “Parlamentskaya Gazeta” on Tuesday, April 18.

“In Russia there is no anti-Ukrainian sentiments. We criticize the Ukrainian government, saying it honestly, openly. Because the government and the people are two different substances”, — said Matvienko.

The Senator stressed that the power elite, such as the one that now is in the Ukraine, “in shame, sooner or later, but the people remain”. In addition, she expressed hope that the “dark times” in relations between the two countries, which will unite much sooner or later will be held. “There will come a time when we will again be friends and visit each other”, — concluded the MP.
