In the lower house of Parliament will be the speaker’s Council for the development of urban areas and public spaces. The corresponding order was signed by the speaker of the state Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, RIA Novosti reported on Monday, April 17.
The first meeting of the Council will be held on April 28. By this time, will be formed and the composition of the Advisory body.
About necessity of its creation Volodin said on March 13. “We expect that the future Council will, in particular, actively engaged in the implementation of the President’s order for the demolition of “Khrushchev” in Moscow, working with experts”, — he explained.
As reported by the Committee on transport and construction of the state Duma, the Council will be invited to become rector of Moscow architectural Institute Dmitry Shvidkovsky, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Institute for media, architecture and design Alexander Mamut and the Dean of the graduate school of urban studies of the HSE Alexey Novikov.
On 21 February President of Russia Vladimir Putin during a meeting with Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin approved the idea of the renovation of all of Moscow of Khrushchev. According to Sobyanin, Moscow is a lot of outdated five-story building — about 25 million square meters. They live 1.6 million people.
Luzhkov, who headed the headquarters for the implementation of the programme of renovation of housing, also promised that the new homes that will be built instead of the demolished obsolete, will be more spacious apartment.
