Sands: the Eurovision organizers are unable to force Kiev to abide by the rules
MOSCOW, 14 APR — RIA Novosti. The Eurovision organizers were unable to force Ukraine to comply with the rules of the competition, this was regrettable, said the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov.
The European broadcasting Union (EBU) informed officially confirmed that Russia will not take part in the Eurovision song contest in 2017, because they do not agree on the proposed alternatives after the refusal of Ukraine to allow the country of the contestant from Russia Julia Samoylova. The EBU has invited Russia to broadcast a performance of the singer via satellite, or to change the participant. The first channel is called these options unacceptable and stated that it will not broadcast “Eurovision-2017”.
“We Express regret. Also Express regret that the organizers of “Eurovision” was unable to fulfill the terms of their rules and was unable to call a country that has expressed willingness to host this contest, follow the rules of the host country, which are set out in the relevant documents of the European broadcasting Union,” Peskov said, when asked to comment on the situation.
