MOSCOW, April 12. /TASS/. The Moscow city court upheld the extension of arrest of the former Governor of the Kirov region Nikita Belykh accused of receiving a bribe. Thus it was refused satisfaction of the complaint of protection.
“The decision of the Basmanny court on the extension against the White of a measure of restraint in form of detention is upheld and the appeal of protection without satisfaction”, — announced the judge.

In the complaint, the defense asked the appellate court to cancel the decision on the content of White in custody and to elect against a more lenient preventive measure, not connected with being in jail.
“The investigation motivated the extension of the period of detention by the gravity of the charges and the special social danger of the crime alleged against Whites, however, we do not agree with the qualification of the charges, the bribes were not” — said the defender.

Previously Basmanny court of Moscow extended until 24 June, the period of detention of the former Governor.
From the case known that in respect to ex-officials opened a new criminal case on the fact of receiving a bribe. As reported by the court investigator, March 17, White was indicted in the final version in part 6, item 290 of the criminal code in two episodes.
The former Governor pleaded not guilty.
White was detained June 24, 2016 at a restaurant in Moscow when receiving a bribe. According to the RF IC, he personally and through the intermediary received a total of €400 thousand.
At the end of July last year, Russian President signed a decree on early termination of powers of White on a post of the Governor in connection with loss of trust.
