The foreign Ministry did not see the ultimatum in words Tillerson about Russia and Syria
The Russian foreign Ministry believes the ultimatum, the statement of US state Secretary Rex Tillerson on Syria, which he made before his visit to Russia. This was stated by the official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, reports “RIA Novosti”.
Earlier today, April 11, U.S. Secretary Rex Tillerson following the meeting of foreign Ministers of the G7 in Italy said that Russia needs to decide whose position on the Syrian issue it is prepared to support.
“We want to alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people. Russia could become a part of the future and an important role to play, or to remain an ally of this group [Syria, Iran, Hezbollah], which, we believe, would not be in the interests of Russia in the long term,” said Tillerson. The Secretary of state noted that “for all of us it is clear” that Assad’s rule is coming to an end.
