The Commissioner for human rights in the Russian Federation has sent a request to the Minister of internal Affairs of the Chechen Republic.

MOSCOW, April 6. /TASS/. The Commissioner for human rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova will check media reports about the abduction in Chechnya of representatives of sexual minorities.

“Novaya Gazeta” on 1 April and published on its website an article titled “honor Killing” about the arrests and possible assassinations of the Republic’s residents because of their sexual orientation or suspicion in it.

Moskalkova said that already sent a request to the Minister of internal Affairs of the Chechen Republic about whether the treatment to them about the kidnapping. In the regional Ministry replied that “from 1 January to 1 April, no treatment was not,” said the Commissioner.

“We contacted a well-known human rights activist, who also reported that her appeals were received. Now I have made requests to the public Prosecutor, today I will send to the General Prosecutor’s query whether there was reports of abductions in Chechnya,” — said Moskalkova.
