The HRC stressed the inadmissibility of political exploitation of children

MOSCOW, 1 Jul — RIA Novosti. Members of the presidential Council on human rights (HRC) expressed concern about appearing in social networks appeals to pupils and students to participate in the coming days in protests, emphasize the inadmissibility of political exploitation of children, said in a statement published on the website of the HRC.

Previously a member of the HRC Irina Kirkor said RIA Novosti that invited colleagues to declare the inadmissibility of appeals to minors to enter the uncoordinated rallies, which is not ensured their protection and safety.

“Members of the presidential Council of the Russian Federation on development of civil society and human rights, working on social rights, concerned about continuing to appear on social networks calling for in the coming days of mass protests of pupils and students”, — said in a statement.

In addition, the members of the HRC said that children “are not a building material for the erection of barricades”, and the future of Russia, and they shouldn’t grow up fearful, inhibited, who are easy to manipulate.

Unsanctioned rally was held last Sunday in Central Moscow. On Tverskaya street and the adjacent territories, according to police estimates, there were about 7-8 thousand people. The head of Department of regional security and combating corruption Moscow Vladimir Tchernikov has told RIA Novosti that they detained more than 600 people. On Monday evening in the capital cupola MIA, RIA Novosti reported that most detainees are released from police departments.

As previously noted by Peskov, during the unsanctioned rally law enforcement agencies acted “in an absolutely correct and professional”. According to him, the protesters “left in an inconsistent time and in a consistent place,” creating a security risk. In the course of the action one police officer received a head injury.

Director Alexander Sokurov at the ceremony of awarding the prize “Nika” noted that “the state is making a big mistake”, and politicians “don’t want to hear young people”. Sokurov said that we need to actively engage in humanitarian development of young people. Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin can’t show respect to those “who deliberately mislead minors, in fact, the children, urging them, including promising some rewards to take part in an inconsistent rally.”

“Adopted in the last century Declaration of the rights of the child clearly States that the child must be protected from all forms of exploitation. Today we must declare the inadmissibility of political exploitation of children”, — said in the HRC.
