Moscow. March 29. INTERFAX.RU — Developed the law “On the unity of the Russian nation” will be renamed because it needs to smooth things over, says the head of the Federal Agency for the Affairs of nationalities Igor Barinov.

According to him, the law should define the conceptual framework in the ethno-confessional sphere.
“Until now, the expert community and the Executive authorities in the regions have different ideas about the basic concepts in this sphere”, — said Barinov.
However, he noted that, despite discussions about the possibility to leave in the law the concept of “United Russian nation”, it “has long existed as the nation itself.”
“It has long existed. There is a concept of the Russian nation in the strategy gosnatspolitiki. Yes, we are all different, different nationalities, speaking different languages, professing different religions. But we present our single people,” — said Barinov.
Previously, “Kommersant” wrote that the law “On the unity of the Russian nation and the management of ethnic relations” can be renamed to the law “About fundamentals of the state national policy”. According to the head of the working group on development of the concept of the bill of Valery Tishkov, the society was not ready to accept the name “United nation”.
