Alexei Navalny was arrested for 15 days for resisting police during the arrest
MOSCOW, 27 Mar — RAPSI, Oleg Sivozhelezov. The Tver district court of Moscow found the founder of the Fund of struggle against corruption Alexei Navalny guilty of resisting the police during the arrest at an unsanctioned rally in the capital and appointed him administrative punishment in the form of 15 days of arrest, reports on Monday, RAPSI correspondent from the courtroom.
Thus, the opposition was prosecuted under part 1 of article 19.3 of the code of administrative offences (Cao) of the Russian Federation “disobedience to lawful order or demand of a police officer”.
The meeting according to the materials of the administrative case of disobeying a police officer came as a surprise to Navalny and his lawyer Olga Mikhailova. The opposition leader noted that he learned about the existence of the Protocol on article 19.3 of the administrative code only this morning, therefore has no idea of the contents received by the court materials.
A Federal judge Alesia Smith did not postpone the hearing despite a request by counsel to allow time to prepare for trial. Bulk and Mikhailov studied the materials for a five minute break and upon resumption of the meeting were announced the withdrawal of the judge, which was denied. The judge also did not satisfy the petition of the lawyer for the examination of witnesses, the admission and study of additional evidence in the case.
Mikhailova expressed the opinion that the actions of the judge violate the right of the Trustee to receive qualified legal assistance. The defender has paid attention that in the case file there is no video footage of the detention of Navalny, while the request for admission was rejected.
Himself opposition categorically denied the Commission of any action for disobeying a lawful order of the police or resistance. In his speech at meeting, Navalny was given to understand that approached him on March 26, law enforcement officials have not disclosed properly during the arrest and was not given explanations about their actions.
According to Navalny, the March against corruption on Tverskaya street in Moscow was peaceful and was agreed by clarification of the constitutional court.
When uncoordinated public events in downtown Moscow on 26 March by the police and Regardie was detained about 500 people, said the report Chief Directorate (GU) of the MVD of Russia in Moscow.
During a campaign against corruption in Tverskaya street and the surrounding areas there were about 7-8 thousand people. At the time of the action of unknown persons had sprayed an irritant gas, said GU MVD in Moscow.
Arrived at the event, Navalny was detained by police and taken to the Department of internal Affairs on city district Konkovo, where he stayed from 15:30 until the morning of the next day.
