MOSCOW, 25 Mar — RIA Novosti. The action “Earth Hour-2017”, which at the international level is held for the tenth time, became the most massive in history — joined by more than 184 countries in the world, six more than in 2016, according to the world wildlife Fund (WWF) Russia.

During the campaign, WWF encourages to turn off the lights for one hour as a sign of indifference to the future of the planet. “Earth hour” is a symbolic action, whose purpose is not to save electricity, and in drawing attention to environmental issues. The theme of “Earth Hour-2017” — a responsible attitude to nature, and the main slogan was “Change yourself, not the planet.” In Russia the event is held in the framework of the Year of ecology.

“Earth hour” in 2017 became the most massive in history joined more than 184 countries, which is 6 more than in 2016. In Russia the event was attended by a record 150 cities in the country is 1.5 times more than in 2016 — said in the message.
