In the Kremlin consider it an unfair decision by Ukrainian authorities to ban entry to the country of Yulia Samoilova, who was representing Russia at the musical contest “Eurovision-2017”. This was stated press Secretary of Russian President Dmitry Peskov on Thursday, March 23, the correspondent “Tapes.ru”.
“Certainly, the decision of the Ukrainian side seriously devalues the upcoming competition, I guess, this is a blow to the prestige of the Eurovision”, — said Peskov. He recalled that the organizers of the contest expressed regret with the actions of the Ukrainian authorities.
Moscow hopes that Kiev will reconsider this “absolutely unfair decision”. “We would certainly expect that the decision to contest will be reviewed and the Russian participant will be able to participate in this competition”, — concluded the official representative of the Kremlin.
On 22 March it was reported that the security Service of Ukraine has forbidden Yulia Samoilova entry into the country for three years. Such measures are related to the fact that the singer visited the Crimea after its reunification with Russia.
Kiev has got the right for holding “Eurovision-2017” after the victory of its member States, Ukrainian singer Jamala in the competition last year. Dates of semi — finals on may 9 and may 11, the final will take place on may 13.
