The interior Ministry has reported on the doubling in the number of issued passports to Ukrainians of Russia

Compared to 2015, 2016, almost twice as many Ukrainians have Russian passports, told RT in a press-service of the interior Ministry.

It is noted that the document was issued more than 100 thousand natives of the neighboring state against 67,4 thousand in 2015.

About 37 thousand passports issued for the citizens of Kazakhstan, more than 23 thousand Uzbeks, approximately 22 thousand — the natives of Armenia. All of these figures are also higher than last year.

In October 2016, the office of internal Affairs for migration has estimated that on the territory of Russia is a million Ukrainians with a particular status. According to the Agency, since the beginning of the conflict in the East of Ukraine for asylum have addressed more than 440 thousand people, more than 270 thousand refugees are registered.

On 20 March it became known that the passport of the self-proclaimed people’s republics of Donbass will be considered by the Russian migration services for the same rules as a passport of Ukraine. Thus, the residents of the DNI and the LC needs every 90 days to leave Russia to comply with the law.

March 17, Russia’s permanent representative to the OSCE Alexander Lukashevich said that Moscow could cancel the decision on recognition of documents of the DNI and LC, if Kiev will comply with the Minsk agreement.

In February, President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the recognition in Russia of the documents issued to citizens of Ukraine and stateless persons permanently residing on the territories of separate districts of Donetsk and Lugansk regions. In Kiev this step is called evidence of Russia’s violations of international law.
