Suspected of bribery former Governor was going from Israel to Russia

Former Governor of Chelyabinsk region, a former state Duma Deputy Mikhail Yurevich ready to arrive from Israel to Russia to testify on the brought against him in the case of receiving a bribe. This was reported by a National news service (NSN), his lawyer Igor Trunov on Friday, March 17.

“He’s not hiding, guilt is totally not recognizes and is willing to come and give extensive testimony,” — said Trunov. According to him, in the beginning of next week the defenders of the former Governor will receive the documents of investigators and arrange a date to testify.

Counsel argues that the case of bribery was begun in 2012. “It’s for a long time was suspended. Now it has been revived, but since 2012 no evidence against Mikhail Yurevich was not” — he said.

Yesterday, 16 March, press Secretary of former Governor Julia Bobyleva said that Yurevich is on treatment in Israel. According to her, the criminal proceedings he had learned from the media.

The fact that the Investigative Committee of Russia initiated a case against Yurevich, became known earlier in the day. According to investigators, in 2012, he received a reward from Vitaly Teslenko (now serving a sentence on charges of taking bribes — approx. “Of the tape.ru”), who was appointed to the post of Minister of health of Chelyabinsk region.

Mikhail Yurevich led the Chelyabinsk oblast in 2010-2014 and resigned with the formulation “at own will”. After the dismissal Yurevich got the mandate of the Deputy of the state Duma. In 2015 it brought a criminal case for beating of the Chelyabinsk businessman during an Amateur hockey game. Last year could not participate in elections to the state Duma, as it was excluded from the list of candidates from the Russian party of pensioners for justice.
