The Ministry of justice filed to the Supreme court of Russia the claim with the requirement to recognize the extremist organization “Administrative center of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia” and ban its activity in Russia.
The information that such suit was brought, appeared in the database of the Supreme court. As explained by the media management center is the umbrella organization that manages the branches of “Jehovah’s Witnesses” throughout the country. If the center will be banned automatically and branches will be outlawed.
In regions have already repeatedly made the decision to ban local branches of the organization. So, for example, recently the Supreme court of Russia upheld the decision of the court of the Jewish Autonomous region to ban the activities of religious organization “Jehovah’s Witnesses” in Birobidzhan. And in October last year, the Supreme court of Russia upheld the decision to liquidate the local religious organization “Jehovah’s Witnesses “eagle” and the recognition of its extremist.
Known antisectarian expert Alexander Dvorkin believes “Jehovah’s Witnesses a” totalitarian sect, and one of the largest. According to him, the sect exists in its own world and creates his own person – existing outside of culture, outside of society, outside of society. The representatives of “Jehovah’s Witnesses” with this assessment disagree.
