Three years after joining the Crimea to Russia General euphoria from the historic reunification passed in conscious belief: enacted in 2014, the decision was correct. The Russians used to take the Peninsula as part of our country, but in 2017 the number of those who agree with this statement, reached a record high. This is evidenced by the poll (at the disposal of “Izvestia”), which was conducted by VTsIOM on the eve of the third anniversary of the return of the Crimea to the Russian Federation.
Crimea — is Russia. Agree with this statement 97% of the citizens of our country. Refuse to take the Peninsula as part of Russia, only 2% respondents 1% respondents were undecided on this question.
That the reunification of the Crimea with Russia, has brought only benefit the country, sure 78% of the respondents. It should be noted that their number also increased compared to last year: in 2016, the believed 60%. The fact that this step brought negative consequences, sure, only 13% were unable to answer 9% of Russians.
89% of respondents believe that reunification with Russia benefited by the Crimeans. Harmful to the Crimea, this fact was considered 5%, and 6% were undecided.
At the same time citizens do not agree with the fact that Crimea and Sevastopol are now the necessary financial incentives. Only 10% of respondents said that these regions should receive more funds from the Federal budget. The majority of respondents — 84% — believe that the money should be allocated on an equal footing with other subjects of the Russian Federation. There were also 3% of respondents who noticed that in the financing of Sevastopol and the Crimea is not necessary.
The realization that the Crimea became part of Russia, no longer based on an emotional impulse, says the head of the Department of research VTsIOM Stepan Lvov. According to him, the citizens had already formed a stable, rational arguments to answer the question why the Crimea is Russian.
— Crimea and Sevastopol — equal subjects of the Russian Federation, their rights and duties, with its distinct role in the national economy and security of the country. The economic crisis has reduced the number of people willing to help new players in the financial, but not observed absolutely no movement in the direction of returning them to Ukraine, — commented on these studies Stepan Lvov.
Vice-President of the Center for political technologies, Rostislav Turovsky believes: to replace the euphoria came a period of reflection.
— Negative trends in public opinion is not marked. Crimea and Sevastopol became the regions of Russia and is perceived as almost everyone. Citizens do not associate them with any problems or threats. And if they are now the same regions as the other, then their funding should be adequate: this position society has also become a consensus, stressed the analyst.
Member of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs, representative from the Republic of Crimea Sergey Tsekov in the interview with “Izvestiya” noted that more and more Russians proud of their country, and the return of the Peninsula became a point of reference in the strengthening of Russia in the international arena.
However, the view that Crimea should be funded on par with other regions, the Senator does not share.
— This is the right position, but not today. In General terms we have funded when you pull up to the level of other regions. We are stuck in the early 1990s, as over 20 years in the Crimea were destroyed what is left after the collapse of the Soviet Union. We now need to support. In Crimea such a high potential that over time we will no longer be a subsidized region. We have all chances to become a revenue generating region, — said Sergey Tsekov.
Executive Director of the Association of tour operators of Russia Maya Lomidze noted that today the Crimea is one of the most popular routes among tourists.
— Among Russian seaside resorts, it ranks second. If judged by the number of tourists generally, the Crimea is on the fourth place — the first three in the Krasnodar territory, St.-Petersburg and Moscow — said the expert.
Over the past three years vacationing in the Crimea increased considerably: for the tourism industry of joining the Peninsula was definitely a positive thing. However, as stated by Maya Lomidze, the assessment is that the Russians in 2017, gave the Crimea is connected not with tourism. It is the position of citizens of our country.
