The mayor of Novosibirsk Anatoly Lokot said that first thinks about the welfare of citizens, and not to nominate a candidate for President of Russia. He commented that Communist party leader Gennady Zyuganov has made his name in the list of applicants for participation in the presidential campaign. “The main task for me is implementation of Federal programs, obligations that we undertook before Novosibirsk. As Vysotsky: “don’t worry — I will not leave, and do not expect — I will not leave”” he said.

Earlier on Friday, according to TASS, Zyuganov promised that the decision on the presidential candidate of the Communists will be taken “after consultations with all national-Patriotic forces”.

On 16 March it became known that Zyuganov has made to the list of candidates for the elections of the President of Lakota and the Governor of the Irkutsk region Sergey Levchenko. Just a list of 21 people. The party from the list will select five or six people at the Congress, which will take place in may. In December will be announced the name of the final candidate.

March 1, the newspaper “Izvestia”, citing sources in the presidential administration reported that the Chairman of the CPRF can abandon his candidature for the presidential elections to be held in 2018.
