Russian electoral system is in need of more modern equipment, said the CEC head, Ella Pamfilova. It is reported by TASS on Thursday, March 16.

“We need new approaches, we need fresh minds, fresh ideas,” she said at a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of communications and producers used election equipment.

She expressed hope that the CEC will help to “arm themselves with modern elements, which work on the modernization of the electoral system in the interests of the voter.”

March 6, Pamfilova said that representatives of many political parties advocate the improvement of the electoral legislation. Three days before that the state Duma was introduced the bill, which envisages the introduction of mandatory broadcast from polling stations on election day. While this provision is not enshrined in legislation, although such broadcasts were already being conducted during the September elections to the state Duma.
